Supplemental Security Income (SSI) In New Jersey
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal income supplement program enacted to assist disabled people with little or no income. SSI benefits are also available to a child younger than 18 if he or she meets the Social Security Administration’s definition of disability for children, and if his or her income and resources are within the eligibility limits. In addition to proving that your medical condition prevents you from working, you have to demonstrate your financial need for SSI. Occasionally, a person with a low income will be eligible for SSD benefits and additional payments from the SSI program.
Income And Disability Requirements
SSI benefits are generally available to any qualifying American in need, regardless of whether they have paid into Social Security.
To successfully obtain SSI benefits, you must meet income and disability requirements. As we build your case, we can gather information from you, family members, and most importantly, medical care providers. With our experience, we can bring the legal and process knowledge needed for a strong SSI application and case.
Eligibility
Often, our disabled clients believe they need to choose between Social Security Disability and SSI benefits. You may be eligible for both. We can determine your eligible programs and aggressively pursue your full potential benefit amounts. The programs share the exact medical condition requirements, so the already low demands on your time will barely increase. For more information, please get in touch with our firm.
Helping Clients Get the Benefits They Deserve
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a government-provided disability benefit that can be issued with Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits. SSI benefits are based on disability and financial need, while SSD is available to people of all income levels who cannot work due to disability.
If you need SSI benefits in addition to SSD benefits for a disability, turn to Aiello, Harris, Abate Law Group PC in New Jersey. Our firm is skilled at handling both SSD and SSI application processes and helping our clients understand how they may be eligible for both.
